Claudia Martinez is a standout performer who brings her genuine wit, comedic charm, and impeccable timing to the stage. She effortlessly invites the audience into her hilarious world. A trip to The Second City is always a delightful experience. The show features several humorous sketches, with the mother/daughter( Meghan Babbe and Leila Gorstein), father and star child by Martinez with Metzler, and a punching sequence with a life of its own, leaving the entire audience laughing. Running two hours plus one intermission, The Second City has a long history as an improvisational comedy enterprise and is the oldest improvisational theater troupe continuously based in Chicago. In addition to their shows, they offer training programs for those seeking to learn improvisational skills. While The Second City provides multiple shows to choose from, some may argue that their routines can become repetitive and need more variation. Nonetheless, the talent and wit of the cast make any show a delightful experience filled with laughter and satire, earning it three stars.
